This is Linksys’s second venture with MU-MIMO and the EA7500 can handle multiple clients simultaneously without the bandwidth being adversely affected. This is a dual band router with the latest 802.11ac wireless standard which can potentially reach theoretical combined speeds of 1900Mbps on both bands.

It has a dual-core processor with three detachable antennas and can be used as a router, bridge or access point.

Performance: 

Installing the EA7500 is very simple, using the Setup utility for the router’s configuration. The 2.4GHz tests delivered excellent results at close range, scoring nearly 102Mbps, decreasing by 40% to 61Mbps at a distance of 40 feet. This is with obstacles and a lot of Wifi noise from other gadgets operating on the same band.

The 5GHz throughput tests delivered 422Mbps at close range, with the speed dropping to 242Mbps at a distance of 40 feet.

While transferring a heavy 2GB file mixed with video, audio, simple documents and pictures, the reading speed was clocked at 62MBps, while the writing speed was marked at 31.3MBps.
